P0106 on long drives and now P0122

So, my 1997 turd bucket, I mean Cavalier, has been throwing a P0106 code on long highway drives. It's the MAP/Baro sensor low circut code. I've replaced the sensor three times now (original, then replaced the replacement twice), cleaned the throttle body, etc. Code ONLY comes on on long highway drives (80+ miles). If I do all my driving in town, the light will eventually turn off on its own. It's been doing this for close to 6 months now. Well, I took the car on a road trip last weekend, and it came on. Today, I got around to scanning the codes, I figured it'd be the same P0106 as always. It was, but this time it also threw a P0122, which is the throttle position sensor. Car was/is still running/driving great. The TPS is maybe a year old. Car is a 1997 2.2 3 speed auto with 264,500 miles. And I didn't type that wrong either. Any ideas as to what could be causing my issues? Also, when the car does go on a long road trip, when I come to a stop (after it throws the P0106), it almost seems like the idle is fluctuating.

I wish it was that easy, but when emissions time comes around, they're not gonna say the same thing...

Well, as im sure you know, our cars are VERY sensitive to aftermarket electronics parts. The TPS is probably bad, or the car just doesnt like it. I say this because our cars are known to throw codes for the O2 sensors that are Bosch. And such. I would say replace the sensor, if that dont work, then you may have a wiring issue. As far as the Map/Baro sensor, I would start looking into wires. Also you can do this, just before emissions, reset the codes. I did that on my girls 96 vert with the 2.4 here in Illinois, and it passed with flying colors. Then on the drive home, light came back on. All bc I have a Bosch sensor in there. Try that, and see what happens. But if the TPS doesnt fix when u replace it, then its a wireing issue. Goodluck!

Emissions isn't for a few months, so I can live with it til then. I have no idea what brand o2s I put in there, but I know I replaced em at some point and time... The wiring to the MAP looks good, does anybody know what the values should be on the wiring (resistance, voltage, etc)?.

I would start be getting some new O2's so then you know whats in there and go from there. The Map/Baro sensor, I would try that one more time, but get it from someplace else. Dont buy it from the same place. That could be the issue all along, replacing bad parts with crappy new aftermarket parts. If that dont clear that up, then it has to be the wiring. Since its a 97 go Here and download the repair manual for free, and it may show u in there. I have this on my computer at home, and it has helped alot. It might show the resistance and whatnot in the wiring and such. Goodluck, and let us know the findings!!

Took it on a long drive the other night (40 miles). CEL came on for the P0106, nothing on the TPS. I'm thinking that was a derf moment for the car... it has those occasionally and it fixes itself.
