Could it be that my oil pump has given out or could there be a restriction in the head not allowing full oil pressure to reach the head?

Once I had same problem although it was on a V8 it was some silicone that got into the oil chanels and block them....

that sounds like whats happening because before my 50-60psi cold idle and 35psi hot now its like 20-35psi cold and 7- 10psi hot and i didn't touch anything else in the oiling system ..........that's the last time i let may dad help me with my car, last time he broke 2 timing cover bolts and 3 cam "box" bolts and this time to much RTV at least he cant touch my GT35r LD9 I'm currently building in college lol

I'm going off memory, but I think gaskets in between the timing chain cover and the cam towers can be installed backwards and that can block the oil channel. I think they are the orange gaskets. I could be wrong though.

No your right, I learned that the hard way a couple of years ago. The orange on both those gaskets have to be faced the opposite way. The gaskets there have to follow the pattern of the timing housing so they will not leak.
