ok so i do kno some things about the cavalier motors but this one has deffentatly got me i can start the car some times with no problem what so ever then other times it just doesnt want to start without pumping the gas pedal, Ive already replaced the injectors so i kno it cant be them.

And one other thing my TRAC OFF light comes on sometimes and will stay on for like a good day or so then just randomly go off as randomly as it came on.

To turn the engine on you should first turn the switch to the on position for a few seconds to let the fuel pump prime the system and bring the fuel pressure up to operating conditions, after some 5 seconds turn the engine on it should fire up, if this is what you are doing I would change the fuel filter it may be half clogged, just a guess tho.

Believe it or not, sometimes when the Trac off light comes on, it has nothing to do with ur traction control system. I have seen codes being thrown for O2 sensors that can cause the trac off light to come on. I would assume no C/E lights come on when this happens. It could be from a various array of sensors that are causing this. I have heard from IAT sensor all the way to the O2 sensor. Best bet is when the Trac off light comes on, take it to a Autozone and see if they can scan it. Other then that, it would be guessing since its tied into so many other circuits. So try that and let us know.

I'd start with a basic tune up - plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter, and some good oil. See where that takes you, it can't hurt.

As far as the traction light, I am not really sure. IIRC, when my car died randomly all of the lights on the dash came on, including the traction light.
