A/C Clutch Removal

I'm pretty sure the a/c compressor clutch is going bad on my cav. There's an obnoxious jingling noise whenever the a/c is off, but it goes away as soon as i turn it on. Does anyone know if the clutch on the compressor is serviceable? I know you can buy a new one, but I've heard tell of a special remover tool that's needed. Also, I'd rather not replace the whole compressor because I have no means of evacuating the system.

There is a special tool needed to remove th clutch. I tried replacing just the clutch last summer, but the tool broke on me. I ended up very frustrated and annoyed so I replaced the entire compressor instead. If you replace the compressor you need to replace the accumulator and filter tube as well. Don't forget to flush the system when you get it all back together and before having it re-charged.
