Looking for hints/pointers to change the seep belt on my 2002 2.2 F engine CAV? Looks like from underneath or take the wheel off??
thanks Pete
all I do is get a let bar or 2x4 piece of wood, Push on the belt tensioner the belt will have some slack, Then pull it off the alternator pulley. The there is goes. Do the same way to re install the new belt.

you have an ohv. he has an ecotec. your alternator is up top, his is down bottom. not the same thing.

Ok well, Take the right side tire off, Remove the plastic shroud in the wheel well area, Use a wrench or a breaker bar, To turn the tensionor left that should allow the belt to become slack. It would be better to have a another person to guide off the belt.
install it in reverse method.
Good Luck.

the ecotec became available halfway through the 2002 model year. it became the standard engine in 2003. hence op said VIN F, indicating he had an ecotec.
