Fuel rail/Injector noise?
Thursday, October 14, 2010 8:55 AM
i finished installing a 93 2.0 ohc into my 89 Sunbird gt, and still using the low impedance turbo injectors. The engine runs great so far but there is a fairly loud ticking sound from the intake area at idle, the sound follows the engine speed not the camshaft like a valve or lifter.

I can put my hand on the fuel rail and feel the sound, i actually put my ear on the oil cap because i couldn't feel any vibration, and it sounds solid.
Has anybody ever have loud injector noise or other fuel rail noises? what would be an easy way to single out an injector.Or can i use the high imp. n/a injectors with my low imp. system?

I have ported the head(exhaust/intake ports), and intake to match but that would have nothing to do with my problem, would it.

The engine has forged pistons installed but staying n/a for now, i want everything up to check first.

Any info appreciated.

Could it be detention from the timing being slightly out of adjustment?
