Once I have the intake off the engine of my 02 Cav 2.4 T motor, how do I find a crack or a spot where it may potentially have a vacuum leak? And once I get ready to re-install an intake, what are the torque specs for the intake?
Right now I have the intake off the car and filled with water with no evidence of leaking. However I know this doesn't mean much, I was hoping for a sign of some sort like moisture or slight seeping around a spot or crack just under the weight of the water inside the intake itself, but I think I may be failing at this. Any ideas on pressure checking or vacuum testing the intake would be helpful.

best thing you can do is reinstall it with a new gasket, and make sure you do it in a pattern as to not crack the intake mani by accident. then get everything back together, and spray the whole thing down with carb cleaner while its running. If anything is leaking or whatnot the car will rev or stumble in the area where the problem is. Either way if there is a crack or leak you will find it that way. Best and easiest way to find a vacuum leak or a small leak. Goodluck man!
I installed a new intake manifold gasket, throttle body gasket, and a new IAC. Now the engine has a high idle issue when the clutch is in and/or the car is in neutral. I was driving home from work today and the CEL came on while I had the cruise set between 75 and 80 MPH. I plugged in my scanner and it popped a P0134 code. I know the upstream O2 sensor is unplugged, but that is because for the past few weeks, I have had no real problems with the vehicle with the O2 unplugged. If I plug in the O2, I get a P0171 code.
I have another post on here regarding the P0171 that I cannot seem to diagnose. Refer to that post for every diagnosticprocedure I have attempted and every repair I have completed in an attempt to permanently get rid of that code. I am seriously considering a new PCM and possible a new engine harness at this point. I just don't have the money for both. I could get a PCM from the bone yard, but I would prefer to have a new harness that hasn't been raped or even the chance of being damaged yet. Again, refer to my post for the P0171. I believe it is labeled "P0171"
