my front tires need replacing... but my rear tires arent as bad and still have some life. i was just going to move the rears to the front and put the new tires on the rear, then when the old tires need replacing so the same.. then i will rotate them correctly so i dont have this problem again
or should i just get 4 new tires?
if your'e old rear tires are good, Then keep them on the back, Put the new tires on the front. If your'e old tires are too far worn replace all 4 tires with new ones. I would check with the tire store when you go to buy new tires, They should be able to let you know the tread depth.
Good Luck.
Keep the good tires on the back. I know, it seems dumb, but in fact it is more important for the rear tires to be good than the fronts.
id rather have my best tires on the front, but i dont want to replace all 4 at the moment if i dont have to....
Nick is right.. really you should have your best tires on the rear (even in a fwd car). It really depends on how bad the rear tires are, like said above I'd have them check the depth. Obviously the better option is to get all four and keep them rotated, but depending on how bad the rears are you might be able to keep them and wait on two new tires sometime in the near future.
