2004 Sunfire Struts

I have a 2004 Sunfire 80, 000 Kms. 5 speed no mods.
Thinking of getting new Monroe struts for it.
Anybody out there have Monroes and how would you rate them.
Are there better struts?

Thanks

Walt

Basically they are a good strut, good for replacement of OEM.

They're okay. I put them on my 2002. If you want to save yourself the hassle, you can buy their "Quick-Strut", which is the full assembly: new strut mount, spring, bearing plate. All you have to do is unbolt the old assembly and pop in the new. I did that because I had a bad strut mount, and it really made the job much easier. You used to be able find them for around $140, though they recently came out with an economy version, and the price on the original "sens-a-trac" model is going up....

If you want performance-oriented shocks/struts, there are much better out there (KYB AGX, Koni Yellows, Tokico D-Spec or Hp Series, etc.), but for OEM replacements, Monroe are a good choice.
