My drivers side wheel is sitting too far back. What is most likely bent and what should i look at? I've had the wheel off and everything looked normal at a glance, but i really dont know what to look at closely.
I know the car was in an accident. I bought it from a guy and then found the evidence afterward. Also if it means anything the car drives straight, but has a slight clunk when i turn to the left at low speed and a vibration/grinding noise that i can feel in the steering wheel and the floor when turning to the left at anything over 40mph.
I meant to post this in suspension and brake forum. If someone could move it. Sorry.
Look hard at control arm bushings. One or both may be failing, which can cause all of these symptoms.

Yes, or you might have lost a control arm bolt

The bushing could cause the alignment issue as well? Ive driven the car about 5k miles since i bought it and its always been like this. I havn't had a chance to look at it yet though due to rain and work. Hopefully tomorrow if it doesn't rain. If i decide to replace the bushings how difficult is that and what does it involve?
