oil filter cap

Does anyone know if an aftermarket metal cap for the oil filter is available (2003 / 2.2 eco)?. I suck at life and kinda stripped the plastic one by initially being lazy when changing oil...

I have never seen a metal replacement, but a new plastic one should be easy to find at any parts/ac delco store. Instead of a metal cap, spend a few bucks on a torque wrench (even a cheap on will do, maybe $20). That way you won't strip the new one, and you'll have a torque wrench as a bonus. It should be about 20 lbs/ft.

Get another plastic one and dont reef on it. My 03 has 73 miles and still has the original cap.

yeah just get the right sized socket and along with a stock replacement.
I have a nice craftsman socket and my stocker is just fine(112,000 miles on the car)

Tighter ISN'T always better. The plastic is fine but treat if for the product it is. Many people often overtighten not only this cap but spin on filters and spark plugs as well.

Heed the advice given, new plastic and a torque wrench.
