I installed a racetronix fuel pump into my cavalier since my old fuel pump died, and I can not get the car to start for the life of me. Car has been sitting since November.
Side note: The old pump wouldn't even turn on with power applied directly to the pump itself.
What I have tried and learned so far.
- I turn on the key and the pump builds pressure, and turns it self off after a few seconds
- My injector fuse was a blown 15amp fuse, and now is replaced with a new correct sized 20amp fuse. Thanks David for the help!
- All ignition and fuel related fuses are fine.
- Pulled plugs, after letting the motor crank a bunch, and plugs are dry..........no gas on them at all.
- Coil packs Ohms measure good, and are identical to each other.
- Spark plugs are good, and look fine.
- Fuel filter is BRAND new.
- Brand new fuel tank.
- 10 gallons of fresh gas, and NO old gas in tank.
- primed the fuel pump per the racetronix's instructions
- Also, used the wiring harness from the racetronix kit.
- Sprayed starter fluid into the TB, and nothing
Any ideas at all would be great. Could my injectors go bad?
Any comments, suggestions, laugh and pointing....whatever. Anything would be great. I REALLY would like to drive the POS to the bash this year, and not the HHR.

could be ur injectors! does it make any noise when trying to start? maybe the battery or starter is shot?

Get yourself a noid light to check if the injectors are being "pulsed"

If you sprayed starting fluid in the TB and it didnt start, i would check to see if you are getting spark before messing with fuel.

Did you hook up the power wire on the racetronix harness? The ground? Not that i did that or anything...

Damn Mike, kind of weird all 4 injectors may be bad. Try that like they said.

New injectors, fuel rail, and FPR are in.......but fuel return line leaks....BAD. Talked to David. It seems like the return line "should" have a o-ring in it. I didn't start the car with gas spraying onto the alternator.

Fuel system is working great!
Car has fuel and spark......AND @!#$ WILL NOT START. Any idea from anyone would be great. I have ZERO ideas as of right now on why it will not start.

Did you end up getting the noid lights?
If you are getting good injector pulse then it could be an internal engine problem. Fuel and spark with no start is often a cam timing issue. It could be that your timing chain is one or two teeth off.
Cranks like hell. Noid lights light up fine.
I'm starting to lean towards timing now. I un-plugged my CPS sensor to get it to fire in batch mode. It ALMOST started once.....then it just cranked and cranks, but will not fire.
My fuel system is 100% new, now. My coil packs seem fine. Relays, fuses, and EVERYTHING I checked seems fine.
I have no codes or a CEL.
Only odd thing I notice is my tach is WAY off like down between the 0 rpms and past 8,000rpms.

Crank position sensor could be bad. Also check compression.

did u ever try it with spraying starting fluid in the throttle body to see if it cranks over then? just was curious if it would start with that
