Ok so I put a new air filter on at the end of last summer-same day the engine started knocking. I didn't drive it all this winter. Last week I went in and replaced all of the timing (the timing chain had stretched a full inch and had definitly skippied a tooth). After putting it all back together, the engine still knocks after about 23000 rpms. at an idle you can hear it but it is very weak. I used seacleaner today-blew out a TON of smoke so that needed to be done but the knock is still there. More clear now, too. I used a stethescope and the knock is coming from a rear cylinder. Not sure if it is exhaust or intake? Any ideas? I'm almost positive it is a valve not a rod.
