i had a cracked head and i installed a new one and it runs fine.... but i noticed that compression was coming from beside the head ,right under the coil packs and i took them off as long with that bracket and i had to drain all my water other wise it would have poured out there....on the picture below to the right of that gasket you see the hole about .5 inc in diameter and it has threads in it...but when you start my car air(compression) comes out of it so idk if there s a plug or something that goes in it. that i forgot to take out of my old head?? i know no hoses or sensors plug in there so idk ...im afraid of running my car until i get this dealed with.
there should be a threaded plug that goes in, the 98' 2200 head that i have has a plug in it
