Premature Fuel Pump Failures #4
Tuesday, March 24, 2009 7:03 PM
When I first bought the car it had a bad pump would not run unless you would spray directly into the throttle body. I changed out that fuel pump and 1 year and 2 months later another pump @!#$ the bed. I then replaced that one with the current one that is in the car (Purchased 5-21-2008) and as of tonight the car won't start and the pump does not come on when turning the key to the "on" position. So I will be replacing this fuel pump again this weekend.

Any reason why the pumps are failing? Should I just upgrade to an aftermarket pump rather then messing with the auto parts "factory style" pumps?

Just looking for some input.

Could be that you got bad pump(s), its know to happen. What about replacing the relay?

I have a brand new relay from pump #3 that I still have in. It's just getting VERY OLD putting the car on jackstands and pulling down the tank because the pump fails. Not to mention lucky it is under warranty this time it was $256.00 if I recall when I looked at my receipt.

Aftermarket pumps suck. Get a Delco.
