Faulty Ignition
Monday, March 23, 2009 2:13 PM
Hi,

I own a 96 toyota cavalier 2.4Z and am hoping it's got the same ingition as a 96 z24. The car has been riped apart over the last few days and it still won't run. The rest of the elsectrics work but the engine won't turn.

Has anyone had this problem or has anyone got a good copy of the GM ignition wiring diagram. Also i've been told it could be the CFC?

Cheers

Ian

If you can hear the gas pump when you turn the ignition switch to the on position and your engine turns, then I will suspect the ignition module is faulty or its connector or wiring. Try unpluging it and cleaning the contacts.

since your toyota cav IS a chevy z24, yes, the ignition is the same.

what exactly is it not doing?

starting, the engine isn't turning when the key is turned. but when the key is in everything else works!
