HELP!!

I have a 2000 z24 and i have noticed over the last week or so a smell coming from the engine area that smells like melting plastic.
I have searched for the source, but can't find it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Any chance you've picked up a plastic grocery back on your hot exhaust? I spent about a month cooking one under my car.

I've looked all over the exhaust and have not found anything. I'm just worried that It's going to start a fire one of these days.

It smells like the plastic/wax molds that you would get at the Zoo. You know the ones that are like 50 cents and it molds a lion out of plastic.

...you have an oil leak, start at your valve cover and work your way down. Its dripping on your exhaust.

just make sure nothing is touching the exhaust system in the engine bay. if there is nothing touching, it was probably a plastic bag that touched the exhaust. you might not be able to see it because it turns black. if you cant find anything touching the exhaust, dont worry about it.
