Ok, So first, some background. The car is a 1996 Cavi coupe 2.2L 3T40-AT. I apologize for the mud in the photos. I had to avoid an accident on friday, and doing so forced me nose first into the mud:
At any rate, here we go. Before you start, You are going to need the following:
-Coolant=2 jugs will do it, I bought 3.
-Fuel System Cleaner=1 bottle.
-5w-30 Motor oil of your choice=4 quarts.
-Dexron III ATF (I couldnt find it, but i found its replacement, ATF D/M)=5.5quarts.
-Thermostat=1.
-Thermostat gasket=1.
-Transmission Service Kit (Includes filter and pan gasket).
-Seafoam=1 can.
This all cost $50 anf took about 4 hrs.
Cooling system service
Step 1: Locate coolant draincock, in front of L/F wheel, behind plastic underpinnings:
Start coolant draining:
Let coolant drain for a minute or 2 (to make room in the tank) then insert water hose and turn on at minimum pressure
allow water to replace coolant until water comes out of drain clear. Then close drain and shut off hose. With system full of water, add a Cooling System flush solvent (i used Prestone), and run until operating temp is reached, shut off engine, then open drain, reinsert hose and flush for an additional 2-5minutes. Then drain system completely and then...

Change Thermostat
The thermostat is located here, below the alternator, off of the waterpump.
Remove hose from WP to Radiator inlet:
Remove The black inlet pipe and clean it. when you remove it the old thermostat should fall out. Keep the rubber seal off your old thermostat.
Put thermostat back in and reassemble, then fill system with coolant. when tank is full, start engine. when tank level decreases, fill until at the full line. repeat as nessecary.
Next up, the Seafoam treatment.

This is Seafoam. Mechanics swear by it, but the vast majority of ppl dont know what it is.
FInd a Vaccum line. I used the one off the PCV valve.
turn on the engine, pour the seafoam at 1 second intervals into the vaccum line. Your car will run like ass and throw a check engine light. it will go away when you reset it later.

Transmission service
Remove bolts on transmission pan (since there is no drain plug you WILL make a mess...no way around it.) Leave the bolts on the corners in place (3 bolts total) until the fluid stops draining. There are 16 bolts...which brings me to my next point...
DONT FREAKIN LOSE 'EM!
Clean pan, discard old gasket, and clean magnets...suprisingly mine was decently clean (after 150K miles on fluid)
Remove old filter
Install new:
this is the old...eww:
Install new filter
Oh yeah, and when your done with the cooling system flush, it should look something like this in your garage...

Clean pan, put on new gasket, and bolt pan up. Then refill transmission with Dexron III or applicable.
Make sure when you fill it up, (mine took 5.5quarts of ATF) you check the fluid level correctly.
Start in park with the car at operating temp.
shift in the following sequence:
P (10 seconds)
R (10 seconds)
N (5 seconds)
D (20 seconds)
D2 (15 seconds)
D1 (10 seconds)
and follow the sequence back to Park. Then check your trans fluid. This opens the passages and channels and fills all the areas in the transmission with fluid to ensure its full and you get a proper reading on the dipstick.
