My buddie ran his 01 sunfire out of gas. he put 5gal of gas in it and still nothing. I went ahead and swapped out the fuel filter, and it still wont run. I took one end of the filter off and theres very little fuel coming out of the filter when the key is on and the pump is priming. before I go and swap out the pump (which looks like its going to be a BIG pain in the ass) anything else I should try? Thanks for your help.
I figured. Any tips from people who have done one of this? Getting the heat shield off looks to the worst of it.

actually not me, like i said before a friend. I went ahead and put a new pump in it today. tight fit getting it back in, but all in all it was pretty easy. I did have to drill out one rivet that attached the heat shield to the tank strap.

Glad you got it fixed. A friend of mine did the exact same thing on her dads 1996 WS6. She had me call to tell him, because the guy loves me and wouldn't flip like he would on his daughter who actually did it lol.
