I was driving to school Friday, an my dash started smoking. I've had problems with a stereo in it before, so I figured it to be in my stereo. I pulled my stereo as soon as I parked at school to prevent further damage, and didn't have time to inspect. Today, I went to put the stocker back in and noticed a string of plastic hangin under my dash. I removed the HVAC to get a better look to realize that the plug that goes to the a/c and defogger buttons was fried at the bottom.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem , what was done to fix it, and if it could relate to the stereo issues. When I had the stereo problems, they said they traced it to the dash (big help) but couldn't do anything else.
