ok, thanks. I figured that just wanted reasurance. well my wife was driving the car and the car died at the stop light so she shut it off put it in park and it started right up no problem. the alternator is new. that battery is from july 07 so not too old and all links look good so far. but the fuse box in the engine bay is missing the fuse for where it says gen and the spot where it should be only has a metal contact on one side??? only had this car for about 2 weeks so still going through it and all. but is that not odd?? maybe thats whats causing the car to die?
had a bad coolant temp sens and crank pos sens that i replaced after having the car scanned and that fixed the original problem of it not starting and having check engine light on. now theres no lights on but this happens. oh and after it stalled she said it just shut off no shutter or anything and it drives normal but is shut off and the battery light flashed red then she started it right back up like nothing.
i can tell you if it only has a metal contact on one side, it was never there from the factory. your alternator fuse is going to be in the engine bay somewhere. the problem lies elsewhere. also, when you shut a car off, then turn it back on the battery light comes on for a few seconds, are you sure this isnt what she meant? sounds like an o2 sensor, or a defective alternator.

Did I mention I drive a 2000 Lumina now?-----wigm-tuners.org member
she said after it shut off with the key in the on position still the battery light flashed red. then she put it in park and it started right up.
