when should the timing set be changed?

well i was wondering when i should change my timing set. i have a 2000 sunfire with the 2200, and 104,XXX miles on the engine.


its not whats under the hood, its how you use it

Usually i would do them when they start to rattle, 150,000 miles would be a good time to replace the timing tensioner and chain.

Unless you or a previous owner has done a poor job of regularly changing the oil, you're in the clear until it starts making noise. But by all means, change it as soon as you get noise.
