Ok, this problem has been inherent in my car since I bought it back in 2000. However, lately it has significantly increased and is becoming almost dangerous on the road.
For some strange reason, the car has the tendency to randomly die during driving. It fires right up, even when cold, and seems to be running fairly well while driving. However, it has had a repeated tendency to "disappear" when I slow down or take a turn. The car does not do this every time when slowing down, however. There seems to be a randomness to this issue.
I have had several codes pop lately. (1) There is no cat on the exhaust, so it frequently throws codes for the rear O2 sensor. (2) It popped codes for both the crankshaft sensor and the cam sensor. I have replaced both a week ago just in case. I have also put in new platinum spark plugs, gapped to 0.060, from AC Delco. Since the sensor and plug replacements, the issue still reoccurs.
If anyone can help me with this issue, please do! I have no clue what to look for in order to further diagnose this issue, much less how to finally fix it for good. If you have the time, call me direct at (719) 648 8879 from 9a-11p MST. Or feel free to post in this forum.
Thanks in advance.
