i have a 00 sunfire 2.2 when i went to crank it yesterday it wouldn't crank it finally did after about 2 min of playing with the throttle and it ran fine and even idled for another 30 min until i got to work

i had to do the same thing 3 more times to get it crank it that day i was on my way home when it cut off at a stop light but it crunk again drove another mile to my house and now it wont crank it turned over once and blew a puff of smoke out the tailpipe but nothing other than that

it has no compression it is making a spark but it is weak

im clueless what makes me think it could be the ecu is for the last week my daytime headlights have been blinking on and off the check engine light came on and the brake light is on even though my e brake is down

any help would be appreciated this is my first j body so i am clueless as of now
