I have a 00 sunfire and the fuel gauge always says empty. I have put a new fuel pump/sender in it as well as a new rear wiring harness. That didnt fix it so i tried a different set of gauges and even a different bcm. All the parts besides the pump came from another sunfire that i know the gauge worked in. I checked the ohms coming from the sender and they was around 70 some so i think that should be right because ive got about 3 gallons of gas int he tank. When the key is turned on and the gauges reset they all go down below and then pop up to where there supposed to be but the fuel gauge just pops up to empy. Has anyone had this problem or know what i could try? Thanks alot
I have a similar problem with mine, mine stops working at 1/4 tank, so i never let it get under 1/4 tank. I wish I could help, but I have heard of quite a few j's with this problem as well.

Well i have oficially gave up on the factory fuel gauge and ordered an adjustable one made by autometer. It adjusts from 0 to 280 ohms i think. Does anyone know what the empty full range is for a 00 sunfire?
