Ok, I am trying to replcae my after cat o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 2. I can not get this thing off for the life off me!!!! I have tried the o2 socket, 7/8" wrench, vise grips, all with the added help of pb blaster and a wire brush... Do these things have lock tite on them or were they spot welded from the factory?!?!! If someone has had a difficult time getting them off before, please fill me in on how you got it off... It is on the brink of bein stripped, and I dont want to do any more damage than I already have.

Ive always used to do is allow the car to idle for 5 mins until it warms the metal exhaust, Usually that helps taking it off. Or get some ones with a settline torch to heat it up. Then it should undo. Also might have to take it into the shop.
Good Luck.
well, I have tried with the exhaust warm and cold.... Sheew, I just might end up taking it to the shop.......

I know @ times it could be a pain, Ive had stripped O2 sensor be for, My best friend is vise grips Has worked for me in the pasted, Make sure u are going counter clock wise (left) Plus if u have no hoist its a pain, No leverage If u can get youre hands on a piece of metal pipe it will increase youre leverage. Other wise going to the shop is easier, Its sucks it only takes them 5 mins to undo it for 50-100 dollars.
Good Luck.
Well... I am going to give it one mre shot.... If not I will call my local shop.... They are good people and do good work, its jsut that they are expensive..

Good Luck.

Which sensor is it, the one on the header or the one further down the exhaust?
If it's the one on the header i struggled very much to do that but in the end i found out that you could fit the boxed in end of a wrench on the sensor and that would give you enough leverage to break it loose, from there i used the o2 sensor socket.
If its the one lower down then i suppose i just would reccomend grabbing some pipe and making the wrench as long as possible so you will have lots of leverage.

hmmm, thats odd, I just changed the one on the header a week ago, and no problems! But this one is being a b!tch! It is almost stripped so I am taking it to the shop tomorrow...
