I noticed after it rained in my car one night that my airbag warning light came on along with my seatbelt light, well after a day of air drying my seatbelt light went off, but my airbag light stayed on. I did notice alot of water around the "computer" for the airbag under the passenger side seat. Is there a sensor I can try to replace before I buy a whole new airbag "computer". I know the seat belt and airbag warning lights work on conjunction when you convert over to a non air bag steering wheel, but why would my seatbelt light go off and not my airbag? My ? refers more to a sensor in the cabin of the car, because all exterior sensors and fuses on the exterior were ok during the rain. Any suggestions are appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Never had this issue, but got a letter from GM recently about this. On my 96. Saying if the inside of the car ever gets wet it will damage the airbag module. Also said it will need to be replaced, and could cause the airbags to go off without reason. Also check to make sure the plug on the airbag module is plugged in. I hit it once and unplugged it on my 01 and my airbag light came on (but my seatbelt light did not). If this is not the case I would replace the airbag module. I think I have one I can sell.
