fpr is leaking gas from the top tip into the vaccum line. would this cause hard start and maybe even some white and black smoke?

how about you just replace the bad fpr and go from there....since that is necessary
it could definatley cause hard starting and black smoke

A leaking FPR on my 2.4 destroyed my motor..

It filled up the entire intake system w/ Gasoline...

Get it fixed.... now.

yes my 2000 2.2l was hard starting and new fpr fixed it instantly. mine was leaking from the actual unit. cheap easy fix.
