Ok, so i am getting ready to install my engine, and hope to fire the car up soon. The only parts that are "new" and have never been run before are the internals... pistons, rods, bearings, etc... The block has been bored and honed, but the rest of the engine has been on a running vehicle at one point... Head, cams, etc etc...
But this is the first time that all of it has been run together, and for the engine internals... this is the first time they have ever been run...
So i am just curious as to what the proper break in proceedure is for something like this?
I have heard different things from different people. So just wondering what the consensus is on this...
How many miles or days is the proper break in period? how should it be run durring that period? anything fancy i should do? should i run expencive oil durring the break in? or run cheap oil and just change it more often?
any other do's and don't's of engine break in?
wtf is wrong with people?

cross posting isn't welcome, as stated in the rules. @!#$in lame, and disrespectful towards rules set in place to keep this a good place for everyone, and also disrespectful to everyone that DOES follow the rules. what kind of idiotic thinking makes you think the rules don't apply to you? no one is 'special.' and if anyone is getting sick of my calling them on it, then maybe you shouldn't do it. and to think i actually went out and found my chilton's to help you out. i'm sure i'll hear all the usual excuses also. save them and die with them.
and here, a REALLY good read...

and for your info, my engine is both a NEW engine, and a NEWLY boosted engine.
So i asked the guys in the boosted group how do you break in a new boosted engine, figuring they would give me all the turbo info and maybe some insight on engine break in in-general....
and then this one i posted here as to get the general information on new engine break in.
so why dont you go take a nap or meditate or something... Sorry to cause you such horrible stress and agony...
