Steering column wiring harness has become loose in a friend's car, so it will cause it to die randomly when driving, or just plain not start.
If you hold the bottom of the 2 connectors in place it will be ok, until you let go.
We have a new connector of a junkyard car to replace the bottom one, but that will require cutting and splicing into each of those wires, something I'm trying to avoid.
Anyone else had this problem? If so, what was your fix.
Thanks!
What wire are you referring to exactly?
FU Tuning
When you remove the panel around the steering column, there's a harness on the left (driver's) side of the column.
From it there are 2 connectors, bottom white, top black, fairly heavy wires. We're having problems with the bottom of the 2 connectors coming loose all the time, even though it's clipped in all the way.
Thats the ignition switch.Did you try wrapping a zip tie around it to hold it in place?

Yes, that was the solution for about a year, but it's starting to act up again even WITH new pull ties in place... So we just want to fix it for good this time.
