ok i have posted a few times with no one really helping but things fixed but some things don't make sense. first of it is a 99 2200 4speed sunfire. Ok here lately i noticed my temp gauge going up to almost yellow if a run it hard and then drive normaly or it would just get hot driving normal. What don't make sense is it doesn't do it all the time and also when my gauge goes right to the yellow my fan will just now kick on, but then most of the time the fan will kick on when it just gets a lil above normal. I just flushed the system, new coolant still did it. So i just replace the thermostat and was running a lil above normal but temps were low outside. But here is what don't make sense my check engine light was one and the last time i checked the code it was for the o2 after the cat but when i changed the thermostat it went off.....

also went i baught the car there was one wire off the coil more less and the coil was coroded. Could this have messed up the coils? Becuase i have a starting problem where it moreless floods itself and starts on like the 20th crank somtimes sputtering up to idle. it has new fuel pump and injectors so thats i belive it is ignition. one last thing my motor i can grab slightly on the intake and rock the motor back like 5inchs and forth with no effort. i has new motor mount and wishbone. But i also have a 5 speed 99 that the motor is tight in so what would cause it to move so much? sorry for such a long post but just need some insight plzz... pss i need to figure this out so i can fab up a spare procharger or turbo it... thanks
First off...maintenance, then performance.
Replace coils, wires, plugs, and check your fuel pressure regulator for leaks in the vacuum line or diapragm.
Anyone know what controls the fan onset on our cars? I'm thinking the coolant temp sensor may be shot.

yes, the computer controls the fan off the CTS. You need to see what it is reading via scanner when your temp gauge says it is high.
also, get some new motor mounts, and make sure that new dog bone is stillattached on both sides.
5" is a LOT of play.
