Hi guys. The problem appeared whit my car and I took it to repair shop, they charged me 90$ for disconnecting Air Conditioner and told that the cause was my A/C what makes my Sunfire shaking when driving and stall when braking. It is for sure now, A/C was not the issue and the problem was not solved.
So, what can be wrong with engine if it shakes a bit and stalls if speed is under 10 miles and brakes are pressed (before cornering or stopping)?
Tachometer shows 0.9 rpm when engine is started and drops below 0.5 rpm when driven a bit....and stalls when brakes are pressed.
Sometimes "Check engine" lights up and then car runs great but stalls again when braking. What is causing this stalling? Could it be some sensor, air intake, etc?
Thanks for any advice.
check your plugs for certain, possibly wires and packs too.
2000 Cavalier Sedan.
The strangest thing is when Check engine lights up, car runs good (only stalls after braking).
Tried to use Cruise control and it works short period then switches off after few shakes, but works perfectly when Check engine light comes on and engine stops shaking.
Do you mean plugs make this all?
Is your temp gauge reading correctly? Is your car a auto?
FU Tuning
Temp gauge stays in the middle normally, never seen it higher. Transmission is 5 speed manual.
My 99 2.4 auto is doing the same thing. I might look at changing plugs and wires etc..If you solve the problem post up.
Just my guess, isn't it faulty O2 sensor makes this?
If someone have some thoughts, please, post in.
Does Sunfire have one or two O2 sensors? In few words...where are they both located and what mission do they really make?
