Cruise control on my 1997 does not work. Nothing happens when I move the switch to on, or when I hit the button to set a speed. I searched but didn't find anything quite like this.
Can anyone help me make a list of what to check? I'm sure the actual module is widely available so I almost hope that's it.
...getting it off the second page
Yes sir and that's all I've checked.
Everything under the hood is hooked up... I'm used to Saturns so this system is new to me... in Saturns the module hooks to the pedal inside the car but on the Cavy it hooks to the throttle cable under the hood.
try checking where the cruise control cable actually connects to your throttle body. there shoiuld be a little plastic assembly of some sort that connects the two.
i know that on my 01 that little plastic bugger snapped at about 120k mi on my car. if thats the prob it should be an easy fix. now, ur profile isnt filled out, od you have the 2.2 or the 2.4? i know the pre 98 2.2's had a different tb setup than the 98-02's but i figure its worth a shot, no?
Its a 1997 2.2OHV, manual transmission. I checked the connection there and it is connected to the spring-loaded deal that the throttle cable wraps around.
