Ok, I have an 02 cavalier ls sport with the 2.2 ecotec engine and a 5 speed tranny. Come to find out my ecotec jumped timing and bent a couple valves. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what year of cavalier engines could I get to replace my ecotec with another ecotec? I am looking into a 03 cavalier ecotec engine with 40,xxx miles but the guy was trying to tell me that the 03 they changed body styles, which I do know, but he also said that the ecotec out of the 03 wouldnt fit to mine? Please let me know from what year to what year engine I could replace it with. And also maybe any other models of cars that would have a compatable engine. Thanks

Yeah any 02+ Ecotec from a J will fit just fine. There is some from other cars that will fit as well.
