I'm starting a water pump project on my wife's '96 2.4L. None of the bolts in the harmonic balancer puller set are fitting the holes in the balancer. Two of them are "about" the right size, but I can only thread them in about one turn. I know the holes are rusty and I cleaned them out as best I can, but I don't want to jam a bolt in there without knowing it's the right size.

So does anybody know offhand what the size & pitch on those holes is?

belive they are M8 x i think 1.25 or 1.5-what ever the common size is-I buought mine at Oreillys off the bolt rack in the fastener aisle-sorry I dont have time to check exactly....-this is from memory of water p[ump job on 96 sunfire 2.4L as well...argh wha a PIA

I just did the same job last week, and they should be a m7x1.0 thread. the holes were a bit dirty, but they did thread in without any problem.
