Damn dude your slacking.... I replace mine every time I get gas LOL
btw.... the first replie is correct..... when it stops working like it should (your car won't start).... replace it...... the cheap ones are usually good for at least 3 years.....
Yeah. Expect the average battery to need to be replaced every 4 years or so.
I only just replaced the original in my 1997 last fall. It all depends on usage patterns, environment (heat, cold, etc.), quality, and a bit of luck.

Just a example if the battery is a 72 month battery does not mean it will last that length. The temps in your area and access u add that work the battery affect it's life and sometimes a battery can have a dead cell which in turn can cause a no start or charge.I would say do not replace it until u have a problem and do checks with a meter and then invest in a new one based on the age/condition of the battery at that time.It really varies I have had batt last to the age say 48 months no problems and it just has served it's purpose and no longer will hold a charge and repl it.I have bought diehards and duralast gold and had good results with both lasting the full length of time it was suppose to and have had a dead cell once (diehard) and go it prorated it really varies brand to brand.Hope this helps you maybe better understand batteries.Ok
When the battery is fully charged, and the car is not running, it should read about 12.6V. If it's lower than this, then you may have a cell starting to weaken, and it would be a good idea to consider replacement soon. A weak battery is harder on the alternator and starter, so for the price the battery, it's worth changing if its performance is questionable.
I installed a voltmeter in my car, and I can see the voltage every time I turn on the ignition before starting the car. If I notice it sitting lower than the 12.6 I'll change it, but not before as long as it's working. So far it's been going almost 6.5 years. My brother's battery only lasted 4 years, so I think that luck does seem to have something to do with this maybe...
Just try to prevent deeply discharging the battery at any time (radio use, extended sitting, etc.). I've never had a battery bounce back after I've killed it once. My wife used to be good at leaving the lights on in her old car - the battery in that car never lasted more than a year! Thank God for free replacement warranties!

well i had it replaced today the problem is when the car sits for a 8hr period it will start and then there will
be some hesitation and try to stall. once i give a little gas the car is fine do you think it could be the alternator? or maybe the fuel filter i had the fuel filter replaced a year ago.
