ok when i go to start the car it turns on and runs for about 3 seconds and turns right back off again
its 98 cavalier 2200 5 speed
passlock? See if the dash theft light is on. If so you need to do the re-learn.

after i try to start it the security light flashes
but what would have made it do this
mine just randomly did it. i don't remember doing anything around wiring when it happened..

well how do u re-learn it
try to disco your battery.. or roll your windows down, and from the outside turn the ignition on but dont start it and let it sit for, i think its 15mins. ( am i close fellas?) i say roll your windows down and do it from outside only because i dont think you want to sit in your car for 15mins haha
My car does this in the winter or really cold days, i start it up and it shuts right back off by it self; i t does it maby 5-6 times over the winter; just sometimes on really freezing cold days, like 10-20, i was assuming something to do with cold or frost, but maby not...
