My HVAC Gate-selector froze up the other day; you'd go to try and change the blower up to the windshield for defrost and it'd spring back to the floor/blower vent. Trying the second time to make it select up to windshield defrost, I hear a snap, and now it won't do anything.

I searched the forums and found a few odds and ends but what I need is a fast solution. I can't defog my windshield and I was supposed to be down in denver like two days ago. I tried a dashboard heater, but it didn't do anything for defogging the windshield so it went back to the store.

Anyone here know of a way to FORCE the gate selector up to the windshield so it will stay defrosted just until I can get it into the shop to have the cable fixed up?

If you pull the side panel in front of the cosole off I think the lever is on the passenger side, You might give that a try.

So...

Remove the dash pad, and the front bezel over the radio/cluster, or am I in the wrong spot? I will try this out tomorrow, if I can just get it to point at the windshield I'll be golden
