98 z24 surging at while coasting at slow speed

Hello
I have a 98 cavalier z24, when I am coasting to slow down at lights or in parking lots the car will start surging back and forth, today it choked off for the first time. Fuel filter recently changed. 2.4 litre. Any ideas?

Check your spark plugs.

Plugs were changed a few months ago, very recently had freon put in AC could this have affected?

Where is the best place to get these parts? They are about 85.00 at advance or autozone, found one for 35.00 on ebay, hate to spend 85 to try
