Hey y'all i really don't post here alot but i need some help. I just went out and bought a code scanner b/c my car has been shutting of in the morning when warming it up or it will throw a CEL. So anyways to make it short and sweet. Can you guys help me figure out what i need to kill these codes.
1. PO118 - Engine Coolant Temp Circuit High Input
2. PO122 - TPS/Pedal Position Sensor A Circuit Low Input *note* I have replaced the TPS recently....like just in the last year.
3.PO141 - O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
Any input would be much appreciated.
Thanks
OH BTW....1997 Cavy 2.2L 3sp auto.
crap....forgot something else. There first one....is that the sensor that plugs into the air intake tube? if so i also replaced that at the same time of the TPS. So i'm thinking it might just be the pigtail.
ok i think i got everything now ...lol
I would say your coolant sensor is bad. You CTS is what puts the car into closed loop mode and tells the o2 sensors to start sending signals after the car is warmed up. If this sensor is bad then it will throw off other realted sensors. I know for sure that the CTS and o2 sensors are related. Replace the CTS and see if this fixes your problems. dont forget to reset your PCM by unplugging the - battery cable and stomping on the brakes for 30 seconds. Just my .02
CTS....are u talking about the one at the bottom of the reservoir tank?
I also forgot to mention(sry been a long day) that when i heavy accelerate, i notice mostly in 1st gear, that the Temp. gauge will go down to cold and then come back up to normal.
That is almost a definate indicator that that sensor is bad. It is the sensor at the bottom of the resevoir. They are somewhat cheap too. Replace it and tell me how it goes. also, clubcav is taking too long lol...

You're telling me buddy

.
I'll pick up that sensor tomorrow and re-read the codes and see what happens.
Thanks man. and the whole resetting the PCM.....stomp and hold the brakes or pump them? Sry never heard of that b4.
Hold them down. I've always been told to do this by SHOoff, so I don't see why it wouldn't hurt... Have you noticed any overheating problems or anything? Coolant disappearing?
Also, if this doesnt correct it, the o2 would be my next guess. I'm just assuming that the coolant sensor is not letting the car go into closed loop mode and the o2 sensor it telling the car to stall out...
I have no overheating issues or coolant lose at all.
no...it's not the sensor at the bottom of the reserve tank...thats your coolant level sensor...follow the upper radiator hose to the cylinder head and the coolant temp sensor is right next to it, an inch away. it sounds like you might need to check all the wires for the CTS to make sure you don't have a short or broken wire somewhere.
side note: gotta love the 3sp auto

HA, yea right.
But i guess i'll check that too. I see this is going to be rather expensive after it's all said and done.
