well when mine went out i had to replace the fan blower relay. its located under the hood in the fuse panel. try that its only about 8 bucks at autozone. after i replaced it my fan worked. good luck with it.

it should come on about 225 degrees. but as soon as you turn your ac on it turns on. but if the car gets over 225 turn your heater on so it can cool it down.

that's only if your a/c is working. if its not, then the fan wont kick on. and to the op, you don't HAVE to use dex-cool, but, if you plan on using anything but, you have to flush your cooling system before you do. dex cool doesn't like to be mixed with other coolants.

yeah the fan should turn on if the a/c is charged or not. but since the a/c blower speeds are not working it may be the connections messed up like you said. sounds bad i hope you get it fixed.

Easiest way to check it is to take the fan out of the car. And run two jumpers from you battery or a 12v source on it. If the fan does work then it's a relay, fuse, or wiring problem. If it doesn't work then you have found your problem!
