Should be clipped onto a tab which is bolted to the throttle body on the right side, can't miss it.

ok I'll take a look. today I had the check engine light come on out of nowhere and then my exhaust blew out black smoke right after a fill up. had it scanned and it popped the code for the map sensor.

so it's on the front of the motor by the TB then? and only has an electrical harness hooked up to it?

youll have to take off your tb cover and intake to get to it. then there is one bolt holding it on, on the tb. 10 minute job

it's like 54 dollars. if that comes up as the code is that the only possible thing it could be. lot of money to be throwing at it for that one sensor. or is it prone to fail or does a vac line hook to it. I don't have time to take it apart right now.

The vac line is prone to dry rot, I've had it happen to mine. Check out the hose first for cracks, if its bad, just go buy a piece from an auto supply store, less than $1.
