I have been looking on advanced autoparts and having no luck finding this hose, I assumed that it is a heater hose but when you read the description of the hose it dosn't match where the hose goes. Anyways... Their are two hoses that comes from the firewall (assume that it goes to the heater, which made me think its a heater hose), and the other end goes to the side of the motor where the upper radiator goes, and the other hose goes to a pipe that I beleive goes into the water pump. There is a plastic peice that goes around both hoses and holds them together... I have a 95 sunfire gt with the 2.3l dohc. Any help would be appricated
Take a picture of the hose and point at it, you will get a answer in a min.
Okay I finally found the hose it was under a grand am 2.3 and here is a pic of it
I found out that the peice in the middle is a heater water control valve. Now the hoses that advanced has are two seprate hoses would those work or do I need this middle peice?
When I did the turbo on my 2.4 I tossed those 2 hoses & just used 2 pieces of heater hose instead. I wanna say 3/4" or maybe 7/8".
Its been like that for several years now w/ no problems.
when I turbo'd my auto 2.4 I had to bypass the heater core...but when I went back to N/A a just used 3/4 in heater hose and called it a day.
So what is that black peice in the middle? Does it do some specific thing? Cause I was thinking about doin what ya'll say an just buying heater hose and callin it a day too
It probably regulates the tempreture to stop from getting the heater core too hot. I dont think its a really necessary part to be honest. Its on my cav with the 2.4, but its not on my sunfire with the 2.2 ohv.
