hello helpful people of the board! im calling on you for help. My 2002 2200 SFI engine is misfiring like no tomorrow and i dont know why. here is the details.....
the car misfires at all rpm ranges, but occasionally if you push it up to 5k, it will clear out for a little, then return to its fit. i have changed the plugs and wires, but it did not clear it up. next was gonna be coil or Ignition control module, but im not all about spending the 200 dollars on the module. the only DTC i get is P0300 (random, multiple cylinder misfire). any help you guys can give me would be awesome.
Turn on the car and let it idle. While idling, remove one plug wire from the coil pack, then replace. Continue through all wires. If you pull one wire and there is no arc, you have a bad coil pack.

A more accurate observation has never been typed. These should be the starting points before any serious performance modification. What's the point of making a serious performer if you can't control it's power?
well i have an update. i have singled my misfire down to cylinder two. the coils are good. th wires are good. the plug in cylinder two is good. i have no idea what the hell is wrong with my car. any idea?
Do a compression check to make sure that things are even. If that's okay, it's probably the injector. If the entire ignition side is verified to be good, and the compression is good, then there isn't much else. Do the compression test first though - I had a burnt exhaust valve on cylinder 3 on my 2002 2200 last year. If I had done that check first, then I wouldn't have wasted my money on a perfectly good injector (since that had been my guess). I had a specific code set though (P0303), not the random one. An injector MAY cause the random code to set though, if it upsets the overall mixture too much.
Just try the compression test and go from there. You're getting closer...
Good luck! I'll be checking back to see what yours turned out to be.
