ok i have a 1996 pontiac sunfire. i bought a fuel and had it put in my sunfire and the car runs now. but now since i got the fuel pump replaced the gas guage does not work. all the other guages work but the gas guage. i bought the fuel pump at a junk yard only because money was tight and needed my car running again but now i would like the gas guage to work again.

your fuel guage should be based on a float, Perhaps you knocked it loose when you were installing the new pump. Look at the old assembly and check for differences.

i took it to a shop and when i got it back i ran out of gas. i took it back and they said that the sending unit was bad. so do i need to get another fuel pump or can that be fixed. thanks for ur time man.

Sending unit is separate from the fuel pump, but they do attach to each other. I picked up a complete sending unit with pump for my car for $100.00 shipped from ebay with 11K on it pulled from a wreck. Seemed like there were a lot of fuel related parts for the 2200, so I'd go that route.
