i drive from missouri to chicago, every few weeks, n it usually takes close to half a tank. but now it take a full tank plus some. and it started doing this suddenly. has anyone had this happen, or know what the cause coulde be. i was told that it may be the oxygen sensor. but is there anyhing else it could b or does that sound right.

What kind of car is it? My 2200 powered J-body started guzzling gas as well. It's a common thing it seems. Had the Oxygen and Air/Fuel sensor changed and the injectors cleaned and nothing. In fact, I had it checked and apparently the car's running fine. My mechanic thinks it may be the winter gas that's causing havoc with the sensors. I dunno.

your mechanic is an idiot....he just wont admit that he has no clue wht the problem is.

anyways....do you notice any lack of power? could be a bad cat
usually a bad o2 is gonna throw a code.
check your air filter lately?

i think a bad cat is a problem with a lot of j body owners and they just havent figured it out

Hmmmmm... that may be. Because the air filter's been changed as well. Bad cat you say? I'll have to check that out.
