I have in the shop a 2001 Z24 with the 2.4 auto, the car will not fire up unless you have the gas pedal down a bit. I got a code saying no reading on the cam sensor so I replaced it with one I had. Nothing changed, the car will some times idle but most of the time not. If you rev it it runs perfect, but it will not idle. What else could it be??

see if your getting the same code...if so i would check the wires for the sensor

Did you try checking your IAC solenoid? could be plugged or otherwise inoperable.

BTW, thanks again for dropping that motor off.

that sounds like it could be a missfire, have you done any tests to see if it is infact a miss
