cant figure out whats going on with it. but i have about 5 posts about this, which havent been doin anyting... lol

what characteristics would a spun rod bearing show?

could me using premium gas for so long and now going to regular be a problem? could it make my motor knock?

check the other posts by redhotrunner5188 if you have time to help.

The main symptom for a spun bearing is a deep tapping noise. Imagine the rattle sound of a desiel, or poorly adjusted rockers, but coming from deep inside the engine(i.e. from the crankshaft). Also, the noise won't go away as the engine warms (like some rocker arm rattles) and will get worse as you increase rpms.

Also, it may show up as loss of oil presure. This presumes you have an oil presure gauge and that the wear is at an advanced stage.

Finally, you may see metal shavings in the oil when you drain it. This is the most advanced/serious symptom. The noise would start first, then if you ignored it for a few months, the oil preasure would drop. After a few months of low presure, the metal shavings would show up. Once you reach metal shavings stage, the next symptom is catastophic engine failure.

I haven't read your other posts, so don't know if this helps. If you do have a spun bearing though, there is no fix short of replacing it. It may also require machine work on the block or crank, or new rods.

If your rod is spun, it is going to run very long.

Using premium gas, or regular would have no effect on it. Plus there isnt even gas down there, that is in the combustion is where gas is, not in the bottom of the block
