i have had a lot of problems the past week since i bought my 96 sunfire, i have been trying to fix it up. i was trying to figure out why my abs light comes on while driving. when i pulled the 20 amp fuse from under the hood and started it to see if the abs light would come on, the car started and began to studder and the fuel gauge shot up to FULL (only a few liters in the tank, was on yellow), i had put in a used fuel pump and has worked pretty good the past week. i put the fuse back in, no abs light for about 5 minutes and the gauge was still on Full, but car runs fine now. then i went to pull the relay for the fuel pump under the hood, and nothing, the car was still running, and i could start the car over and over again without the relay, this was weird to me cause i know the car should shut off, cause thats what my 99 z24 does. can anyone explain this?

update: i just put in $10 of gas and jumped on the rear bumper as hard as i could just to get the float going. it dropped from the full mark, but its still not accurate all the time. but i still cant figure out the fuel relay problem. its like it doesnt even need the relay, it starts fine and does that 2 second humm.
