Just rebiult my my LD9 in my 97 Z. Looking for some possible diagnosis, hopefully someone will help me out for once. I turn the key and the engine cranks and starts fine. But unless I hold the rpms around 3k the engine just revs up and down and eventually dies out. I'm assuming it's a fuel issue, or a sensor isn't being read for the proper fuel amount and timing. Anyone?
Check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold. Also The IAC (idle air control) may be disconnected, it is on a side of the throttle body. Also check the MAP sensor at the throttle body and IAT on the intake rubber pipe. After all is rechecked reset the comp and see if you got it.
Also and a must, keep your engine under 3500 or 3000rpms for break in for the first 5000 Kilometers, change your oil and filter soon and do not let it overheat.
Everything is definetly connected. Is there supposed to be a hose connected to the bottom of the IAC? There is the connection as if something were supposed to be there but i cant find anything lying around that should be there. The fuel and ignition systems are working fine so that pretty much only leaves the intake and air mixture.
Also I'm considering the CKP sensor. The engine started grinding a little and theres no way the timing or head is bad. The sensor could be giving me the electrical problems and timing problems right? Since the computer uses the info from the cam and crank sensors when to spark and spray. I've thourouly checked my TB, fuel, and ignition, no probs. it would make sense. It's the only sensor I never replaced in the biuld. Possibly the EGR is stuck as well? Any input from anyone is appriciated!
Am I the only JBO user? Help?
